Of the three major German thrash bands to emerge in the ‘80s, Kreator, Destruction and Sodom, Kreator have kicked the most ass.

Back in the day, they upped the speed ante on American thrash and paved the way to death metal with 1985’s Endless Pain and 1986’s Pleasure to Kill. And, while their output through the ‘90s was less than stellar, they remedied themselves with 2001’s bludgeoning Violent Revolution, which they followed with the equally slamming Enemy of God in 2005.

This week Headbangers Ball will present the premiere of Kreator’s live video for “People of the Lie.” The clip was shot during the band’s appearance at the 2005 Wacken Open Air festival. In the meantime, here’s a glimpse of Kreator playing “Reconquering the Throne” in France in 2002.
