This week, Headbangers Ball will debut the new video by extreme metal band Job For A Cowboy, “Embedded,” as part of our exclusive celebration of Metal Blade Records‘ 25th anniversary.
The show features interviews with bands on the label and backstage footage from the 2007 New England Metal and Hardcore Festival, as well as other videos from Metal Blade bands.
Job For a Cowboy will release their full-length debut, Genesis, on May 15. The album is the follow-up to the band’s 2005 EP Doom. “Genesis is a record that we as a band needed to fulfill,” guitarist Ravi Bhadriraju says. “We wrote an album that we wanted to play live well into the distant future. If there is one word to describe our new record, it is ‘aggressive.’ We want this album to have a certain effect on the listener. I am happy with what we have achieved, and I hope our fans appreciate it too.”
On the upcoming Sounds of the Underground tour, Job For a Cowboy will be playing with their new drummer Jon “The Charn” Rice who replaced Elliott Sellers while the group was writing the record. “Jon’s bad-ass,” says Bhadriraju. “His demo was awesome and we felt that after meeting and talking to other drummers that his personality fit best with ours.”
