In our last Who Rocks Harder, Gwar wiped the floor with Lordi. It wasn’t even a contest, so this week we’ve got a match-up that should prove more competitive.
A couple of years ago, one of the stupidest, most nondescript genre labels ever began to circulate — “the new wave of American heavy metal.” The so-called scene was named after the ’80s movement “the new wave of British heavy metal,” yet the two had absolutely nothing to do with one another. The bands that fell under the umbrella term were similarly unrelated, ranging from traditional metal bashers to metalcore growlers.
The two biggest acts that were ridiculously categorized as NWAHM happen to be launching a tour together in just a few days. While both Lamb of God and Killswitch Engage both march to the beat of their own drummers — Chris Adler and Justin Foley respectively — each clearly rocks. this comparison doesnt make sense. the bands have completely different styles, even if someone called them both NWAHM. it’s like comparing ice cube to sugar hill gang. it just seems to me that more of the heavier metal is represented by headbanger’s so that the fans that actually come to this site would naturally pick LoG. iono, just my opinion…

i think killswitch sux anyways. ive seen lamb of god twice and i think their one of the best live bands. there is no way not to get pumped listening to lamb of god. some of the best riffs and drums are insane. LOG all the way. killswitch is nothing.

Back when KSE had Jesse Leach, yeah. Back when Howard did The End of Heartache album, yeah. We are looking at a different KSE on their latest release. I LOVE Lamb of God, they are sooo bad ass and the fact is…they never STOPPED being bad ass. My vote goes to LAMB OF GOD.
I would have gone with Killswitch, they are a better overall band with a more interesting diverse sound. But Lamb of God are great aswell and heavier but i dont think the diffrence in heavyness is big at all. It’s the big gay choruses that slow down the tempo and heaviness in killswitch.

This is a tough one for me. I personaly think Howrad jones soundes better then jesse leach. He fits better, they didnt sell out either he could stand the road. But randy bythe and lamb of god have to get the tip by a small bit. There both great bands to me.

Lamb of God. This isn’t even a fair comparison. Lamb of God plays the heaviest thrash/groove I have ever heard, and few bands manage to top it, no matter what genre we’re discussing. No way in hell is KSE going to come even close in terms of heaviness.

Killswitch Engage Brought me to metal about 5 years ago and they have been my favorite band eversince. But Lamb of is more brutal so i would have to say LOG.
I had the misfortune of enduring Lamb of God on the recent Heaven and Hell gig in Cardiff. I might as well have stuck my head in a blender - absolute rubbish.
LAMB of effin GOD is waaaaaaaaayyyyyy heavier period.

I’ve seen Lamb of God live and they tear it up, I’m actually going to this tour launched by the two. I can’t wait to see Killswitch for I’m a big fan. I’m gonna give the edge to Lamb of God here though, they are much heavier, sound is more intricate and it’s less radio friendly. And they have their secret weapon in Chris Adler, their Drummer. My pick for who rocks harder is Lamb of God.
Lamb of God cause’ they are pure american metal. they are both revolutionaries when it comes to metal today.

Lamb of God! By far in my opinion.
I love both bands. I think Howard Jones has one of the most amazing voices of all time, but as an aspiring vocalist/screamer/growler, Randy Blythe has been my biggest influence. Many of my friends even tell me I sound like him on Burn the Priest and New American Gospel. LOG was also one of the bands that got me into metal in the first place, so without them I probably never would have listened to KsE. LOG also consists of five of the greatest musicians in the world, whereas with Killswitch the only two people that really stand out to me are Howard and Adam. -=LOG_4_EVR=-

Killswitch Engage is one of my favorite bands. But Lamb Of God is deffinatly heavier and much more brutal in that aspect. But Killswitch can deffinatly throwdown…. dead tie between the two. They both rock Harder than hell.
The two bands have two of my favorite musicianes in them Adam D, because he’s straight up amazing. And Chris Adler because,as a drummer, i have agreat deal of respect.
I’de say if they formed together to make a metal super band, Killswith Of God. I’de go to every show. haha.
I like both, but Lamb of God definitely has the edge. Tons more brutal and faster than KSE. “What will be left behind in the ashes of the waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaake!”
