The answer to yesterday's Indecipherable Logo is Blaspherian, as some of your correctly guessed.
The Houston, Texas Satanic death metal band was formed in 2004 by singer Desekrator and guitarist Wes Infernal (ex-Imprecation, Infernal Dominion). The band adopted its moniker from the word Luciferian and pledged to pursue all that is blasphemous and brutal.
The band's major influences are early Slayer, Possessed, Autopsy, Carcass, Immolation, Repulsion and Incantation, but there are many others. In 2004, drummer Matt Mayhem (Crusher) entered the fold and the band began writing its first rehearsal demo, which was recorded in January 2005.
Blaspherian went through several bass players over the years before securing Lord Ogden the Merciless. The band recorded "To Walk the Path of Unrighteousness" for a split seven-inch with Adumus called Black Death. They followed later that year with the four-song demo Summoning of Infernal Hordes, then a year later Blood Harvest released Blaspherian's five-track EP Allegiance to the Will of Damnation.
The band's most recent release, a split seven-inch with Evil Incarnate called Behold: The Endless Glory of Baphomet, which features "Of Unholy Blood." Blaspherian was also featured on the compilation Bestial Necromancy: Vol. 1 on Black Vomit Records.
In the dark days ahead, Blaspherian will release their debut six-track 12-inch (which includes "Of Unholy Blood") in Europe on Todesrune Records and will appear on the compilation Death Metal Power alongside Denouncement, Pyre, Coffins, Ribspreader, Exorcism, Fatalist, Phlegethon, Hatespawn, Denial and, of course, Fondlecorpse.
