Kittie bassist Trish Doan has left the band because of her ongoing battle with the eating disorder anorexia-athletica-nervosa. Doan developed the condition when the band were working on their last album, Funeral for Yesterday, which came out in February 2007. “It breaks my heart to say goodbye to this family that has given me the best two years of my life,” Doan said in a statement. “I wish my time with Kittie did not have to end, but this decision was made based on doctors’ orders.” Doan was the third bassist to pass through the band’s ranks in eight years. No announcement has been made about her replacement.
Following several months of searching for a new singer, Daath have hired Sean Z, who had filled in for the band’s tour fall with Dark Funeral. Now, we are stronger than ever and we look forward to hitting the road this summer.” Daath entered the studio early this week with producer Jason Suecof (Trivium, Chimaira) to record their third album The Concealers.
