Here’s a clip of Kreator performing their signature song, “Pleasure to Kill,” from their new DVD, “At the Pulse of Kapitulation - Live in East Berlin 1990.” The DVD combines sonically remixed and re-edited versions of the VHS releases “Extreme Aggression Tour 1989/’90 Live in East Berlin” and the horror-themed video “Hallucinative Comas” (click “more” to watch the video).
The first part of the disc captures the the band’s set from one of the first major metal shows staged in East Germany after the collapse of the Berlin Wall. The concert featured 15 songs, including classics like “Pleasure to Kill,” “Under the Guillotine,” “Flag of Hate,” “Terrible Certainty” and “Tormentor.”
“Words don’t do justice to the energy that was in the air that day in East Berlin,” frontman Mille Petrozza says. “The whole event can only be described as utterly unique.”

Kreator is one of the finest thrash bands of all time. With well-crafted, sophisticated music and incredibly powerful lyrics. Consider the irony in the song “Riot Of Violence”. It is a speed metal thrash song about the brutality of indifference. The available double meaning in “Terrible Certainty”, a song which could be just as much about love as about AIDS, is amazing. Support these fantastic artists, they elevate the form!
Hell yeah! About time Mtv headbanger’s ball staff reached back into the archives for some REAL thrash metal! This is not Kreator’s best rendition of the song but it still beats most of that weak Nu-Metal crap that gets so much airplay nowadays! Those guys were the sh*t back then! I saw them on that ‘89-’90 tour here in Houston, Texas and still have the pinky toe nail that never grew back to prove it! lol! You just can’t beat 80’s and 90’s Thrash/Death Metal. Bands like Kreator need to be re-introduced to a whole new generation of metalheads cuz a lot of them don’t even know they exist and that a damn shame! Some bands like Destruction and Morbid Angel are getting back together and touring again and they need all the support they got from fans like me back in the day! Come guys! Lets bring back the classic sh*t! Lets do it for the kids! lol!

His vocals have gone to hell in a handbasket and he lost most of his agression over the past ten years but you are all correct; In their hayday this band was second to none. I dont expect todays generation to appreciate this nor would I offer this clip as a representation of Kreator. Their music was not unique but Mille is/was. The sad fact is that he no longer has the strength to properly perform these “classics”. With all due respect I wish them the best of luck and financial security. I also hope they have learned from Chuck Schuldners fatal mistake and have excellant medical coverage. The title for this dvd seems strangely appropriate. From Cleveland Ohio, the Supreme Judge of Metal has spoken.

Kreator is the best ~@$%%@# thrash metal band in the WORLD!!! I got to see them live two years ago in Cleveland (after having already been a fan for many years) and I was completely blown away!
