It’s Friday, May 2 and that means it’s time for an Unearth extravaganza! Why, you ask? Why not, we say. In th 10 years the Massachusetts band has been around, it has survived multiple lineup shifts, accusations of being metalcore and various late night escapades that would drain the life from lesser men. Sounds like reason enough for us to celebrate.
Even more so, since they’ve got a double DVD on the shelf, “Alive From the Apocalypse,” which has already gone Gold in Canada. And you all know what happens when the Great White North takes a band under its icy wing… Well, usually nothing, but in their case, the sky’s the limit. Unearth have proven their mettle with the DVD and three full-lengths, and they’re currently working on their fourth album, which they’ll start recording in June with producer and Killswitch Engage guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz.
So, to help everyone in the U.S. understand what the Canadians seem to grasp intuitively, here’s a teaser from the DVD, the premiere of the live video for “March of the Mutes.” The performance was shot October 9 at The Glasshouse in Pomona, California.
“The show was sick as hell,” says singer Trevor Phipps. “There was great crowd energy with continuous pits, sing-alongs, crowd surfing and good times had by all. Check it out”
And check out our podcast with Phipps, posting later today. The pary’s on! Click “more” to watch “March of the Mutes.”

Pretty good song, it definetely had its moments. Was diggin the sweep section the lead guitarist does. also some of the chug patterns were pretty cool. The only thing i didnt dig was the preachy part towards the middle, leave that to hatebreed guys. Also the lyrics were kinda blah, bow down to hatred? no thanks. but i must admit the singer has definetely gotten better as well as the entire band
what’s not to get?
