A lot of people have said to me in the last month, “I bet you’re really pissed that your new record isn’t even out and everyone already has it.” I am, but not for the reasons most people think.
Sure, I would like a huge royalty check and top chart positions, but I’m a realist, and playing what we play…that just won’t happen whether downloading existed or not. I’m upset because getting a downloaded version of the new Terror record is not a complete experience. Music, to me, is way more than just the sound coming out of your iPod. The artwork, the lyrics, the photos -- all these things make up an album. And, what if you’re hearing a recording before it is completely mixed and mastered? It’s f---ing sad, man.
People don’t even care to get the complete package. No one cares what is being said anymore. When I was younger, I used to buy Maximum Rock ‘N’ Roll pretty much just for the ads. Anything in there that looked HC, I would take any money I had and order seven-inches from distros across the world because the one store in Buffalo, Home of the Hits, only carried some releases. I would come home from school and go right to the mailbox in hopes that I had received a new record. If I did, I would play it, study it: the words, the live images, the bands on the thanks list and the shirts band members wore were a warning for other bands to check out. It was a beautiful thing that made me feel f---king alive. And to think now about the way things go down is a bit of a bummer.
Sure HC is alive. Sure there are kids all over the world that still get it and bands that are on the front lines doing things for the right reasons. But, at times, it’s hard to swallow that all it is is noise to a lot of people. It never has been to me and never will be.

Well, put Scott, but you forgot one other component that helps define a band: the music video. Watch Terror's vid for "Overcome" now, bitch!
