They may not actually be indestructible, but they certainly seem to be unstoppable. Last Wednesday, Disturbed chalked up their third #1 record in a row on the Billboard Album Chart with their new disc Indestructible. Not only did the record do better than anything else on the charts, it sold as well as records they released when the economy was stringer and illegal downloading wasn’t so ubiquitous. In its first week, Indestructible shifted 253,000 units. By comparison, Believe, which came out in 2002, sold 284,000 copies and Ten Thousand Fists, which dropped in 2005, sold 239,000.
So, we thought it might be a good time to post the first of three days of interview footage with the band. Today, Disturbed frontman David Draiman addresses the title of the new record, the motorcycle accident that tore up his arm and indirectly led to an explosion in his garage and the meaning of the song “Inside the Fire,” which isn’t about his garage explosion, but something far more psychologically incendiary.
