These guys may be the heaviest, most brutal SoCal Christian death metal band we've ever come across. And get this -- The group sells hoodies with an art design of a REpentagram -- as in "repent and ye shall be saved":

Yeah, they're pretty hardcore about salvation. Fortunately they're also serious about making songs and videos stylistically reminiscent of the noises and flashes of light inside the heads of individuals who abduct entire families and drop the members one by one into aquarium tanks of sulfuric acid. The folks at Mondo Mini Shows, the entertainment company that brought us "Heavy Metal Guy" have struck the funny bone again with an metal-themed episode of "The God and Devil Show." The program features Marilyn Manson appearing on a talk show hosted by God and the Devil and as he staggers onto the stage with saggy breasts and no genitalia, Manson is clearly caught up in an identity crisis over whether he wants to cater to the powers of good or evil. Click "more" to find out how little difference there ultimately seems to be between the two. Read more...

In his autobiography White Line Fever (written with journalist Janiss Garza), Motorhead kingpin Lemmy Kilmister writes about his fondness for Ozzy Osbourne's late guitarist Randy Rhoads and how terrible he was at the videogame Asteroids. Lemmy also brings up the idea that death deified Rhoads, turning him into something greater than he once was.

"I have to say, he wasn't the guitar player he became after his death," Kilmister writes. "As with [performance artist] Bob Calvert, [who opened for Motorhead in the early days], a guy who was more or less ignored during his lifetime suddenly becomes a huge genius. Randy was a good guitar player, to be sure, but he wasn't the great innovator he was later made out to be. When you die, you become more briliant by about 58 percent. You sell more records and you become absolutely wonderful." Read more...

Screw Mayhem attractions like Slipknot, Disturbed and Dragonforce, MetalInjection.net have recruited the dudes from The Red Chord to provide semi-regular updates from the festival. Here, they film the autograph tent, a Jack and Coke fountain at a (not so) surprise backstage birthday party for organizer John Reese and a skinny dude dancing like an eel next to a set of free weights. The later sequence is looped over a soundbed of '70s porn funk. Click "more" to watch it all and get your groove on: Read more...

Before embarking on their fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants world tour in February, Horse the Band announced that drummer Chris Prophet was leaving the group. Okay, we'll go along with the gag for the moment and imagine Arnold Schwarzenegger is the singer for thrash band Austrian Death Machine (after all, each of the songs on their debut Total Brutal is about one of his movies). The only problem is, when he delivers the between-song monologues, he sounds a little more like someone inpersonating Dana Carvey doing Hans (or Frans) on those "Saturday Night Live" "Pump You Up" sketches. No problem, the s--t's still funny (even though, as we just found out from some irate readers, the concept is not entirely original. See www.myspace.com/arnocorps).

Ahhnold's collaborator on the project is I Lay Dying's Tim Lambesis, who sings, errrrr, plays guitar, bass and drums. Guest contributions come from producer Jason Suecof (Crotchduster), Eyal Levi (Daath) and Nick Hipa (As I Lay Dying). Click More for the guest blog from Ahhnold. Read more...

On July 10, Megadeth Frontman Dave Mustaine was at the Guitar Center in Hollywood to conduct Guitar Center Sessions: An Evening of Dialogue and Insight with Dave Mustaine.
