So, we finally finished our first video for our first song for "Desperate Times, Desperate Measures." It was really hard figuring out what we wanted to do for this video because we worked with Popcore Film for our entire last record, and we were super satisfied with our work with them, but we really felt liked we needed a change.
We really wanted to find something different, and more fitting for this new record, but all of our options seemed like a step down. We felt like we needed to find someone different but also wanted to progress and not just change for the sake of changing. I spoke with the guys from Walter Robot on the phone briefly about our video ideas and they seemed to understand, but in a vague sense. I didn't have any definitive direction so it was more of a broad conversation.
A few days later they came to us with a treatment about a young boy, a small creature, animation and stop motion, and very little performance and it blew us all away. It was one of the only treatments our band has ever approved right off the bat and we knew that was worth something. We showed up on a day off on the Mayhem Tour, which was in fact a rescheduled show day, and we were really stoked on the dudes ideas, sets and philosophies on film and the integration of us into our video. Once we saw the final edit we knew that these dudes were a perfect fit, not only for this song, but for our new visual direction.
