At the Epiphone Revolver Golden Gods awards last week, deathcore superstars in training Suicide Silence performed the new song "Wake Up," from their upcoming Machine-produced album. Now, the band has decided to stream another track, "Lifted." The tune features more nuances and dynamics than most of the songs on the band's debut "The Cleansing," but it's still bloodier than a slaughter house drain, featuring a choking assortment of blast beats, pig squeals and guitar histrionics. Suicide Silence's "Lifted."

Ex-Faith No More frontman Mike Patton may be reuniting with his old bandmates, but that doesn't mean he's not still on the cusp of all that's weird, noisy and wonderful with his label Ipecac. And occasionally, he'll even write something that borders on the mainstream.

On April 7, 32 new Patton compositions appeared on the soundtrack for the film "Crank 2: High Voltage," which hits theaters April 17. The movie again features Jason Statham as Chev Chelios, an unfortunate British thug suffering from heart problems. In this case, his character wakes to find his heart has been removed and replaced with the equivalent of an analog alarm clock, which requires regular jolts of electricity and high-energy excitement to keep from shutting down.

The action that follows as Chelios searches for the Chinese mobsters who stole his real heart, is fast-paced and unrelenting. Playing cameos in the film are Tool vocalist Maynard James Keenan, Nine Inch Nails guitarist Danny Lohner, Linkin Park's Chester Bennington and country musician Dwight Yoakam. click "more" to see an exclusive snippet from the movie.

It looks to us like the guys in As I Lay Dying are fans of the syndicated sci-fi/horror series "Millennium." The title of band's first ever DVD set, "This is Who We Are," is the slogan of the show and lasts almost as long as all of the "Millennium" episodes back-to-back.

Consisting of three DVDs, "This is Who We Are" documents the seven-year careeer (so far) of As I Lay Dying and is packed with live performances, videos, behind-the-scenes clips and a complete history of the band. The package was produced and directed by Denise Korycki, who also tackled Cannibal Corpse's excellent "Centuries of Torment."

The next episode of VH1 Classic's "That Metal Show" will feature a segment with veteran Canadian cult band Anvil, who are the subject of the critically acclaimed documentary "Anvil! The Story of Anvil." The movie hits theaters in New York and Los Angeles on April 10, with other cities to follow. VH1 will debut the movie this summer and will release the DVD shortly after.

"'Silenced' is about going to war and having everything you’ve seen and been through silenced because of government intervention," Sean Z told Revolver. "[It's] Sort of like the Russian sub Kursk that sank, and the government shut everyone and everything up to conceal the reason the nuclear sub went down. All the supporting countries knew about it and Russia said they’d attack on site anyone who tried to help their fallen comrades."

On January 5, MetalSucks.net posted an MP3 they found of Mastodon performing their new song "Divinations." At first, the track sounded like something a music journalist had bootlegged on a digital recorder when he was listening to the band's new album Crack the Skye in a Warner Bros. Records conference room. On closer listen, however, it became clear that the recording was made during the band's performance at the Bonnaroo festival last year.

A couple hours later, the point became mute when the track was replaced with an English voice repeating, "Metal Sucks is run by c--ts." The dudes at Metal Sucks must have felt like Bob Guccione, Jr. when Guns N' Roses frontman Axl Rose s--t talked him in the song "Get in the Ring." Congratulations, guys. You've arrived.

For the third annual After Dark Horrorfest, the film festival isn't just releasing eight new movies, they're also issuing two soundtracks, 8 Songs to Die For and 8 Themes to Die For.

After Dark Films’ Horrorfest "8 Films to Die For", is a one-week national film festival, which runs from January 9 to 15 and, according it its press department, is the biggest in the nation. The tracks on 8 Songs To Die For were inspired by the movies that make up Horrorfest III and aren't necessarily in the movies themselves. The songs are: Ministry's "Let's Go," Blue October's "Holler," Revolting Cocks' "Keys to the City (Vegas Mix)," Walls of Jericho's "They Prey," G Tom Mac's "Box of Fantasy," Too Pure to Die's "Confess," Bleeding Through's "Death Anxiety" and The Number Twelve Looks Like You's "Glory Kingdom."

The 8 Themes To Die For soundtrack contains songs and scores from the feature films in Horrorfest III: "The Broken," "Autopsy," "Dying Breed," "Butterfly Effect 3," "From Within," "Slaughter," "Voices" and "Perkins' 14." The music was composed by Joseph Bishara, io echo, Adam Balazs, Nerida Tyson-Chew, Kelly Barnes, Chung Se-Rin & Kim Joon Seok, Jason Cooper & Oliver Kraus and Konstantinos Christides.

Florida death metal veterans, Cannibal Corpse, are getting ready to drop their new album Evisceration Plague, which will no doubt feature an abundance of technically complex riffs and beats, inhumanly growled vocals and lyrics that make Clive Barker look like children's book author Eric Carle.

The record comes out February 3 and features track titles like "Skewered From Ear to Eye," "Beheading and Burning," "Shatter Their Bones" and "Carrion Sculpted Entity." We don't have any new music to offer you quite yet, but our friends at Revolver have posted a preview of the bonus documentary DVD that will come with the CD. Click "more" to watch.
