Holy crap! It looks like some gutsy (or foolhardy) soul in the programming department took our tongue-in-cheek recommendation to air this bloodbath of a music video literally, and it is somehow slipped right by the standards department and onto the airwaves on last Saturday's show. The clip features a man who accidentally runs over a little girl, then buries her to cover-up his heinous deed. But the young-un's soul doesn't rest and she lashes out "Evil Dead" style to murder the manslaughterer in a tangle of bloody vines and vomited intestines. Metallica have posted professional footage of drummer Lars Ulrich rocking out onstage with The Sword and frontman James Hetfield stepping up to the mike with Machine Head.

The Sword song "Freya" and the Machine Head number "Aesthetics of Hate" were shot on May 16 in Cologne, Germany. Click "more" to watch both clips.

Pirate metal certainly isn't a new phenomenon. We're guessing it dates back to around 1987 when German power metal band decided to cast their Satanic lyrics overboard and embark on a pirate voyage with their third album Under Jolly Rodger. But whatever its origins, it remains one of the silliest subgenre of metal and it seems to be gaining popularity. Alestorm, Blasphemy, Scurvy, Verbal Deception and Battleheart are just a handful of groups willing to walk the plank for a some rum-swilling riffs and lyrics about sailing the seven seas.

But New Jersey's Swashbuckle, whose second album Back to the Noose comes out July 24, just might have the coolest pirate-themed video. Click more to watch "Cruise Ship Terror."

Here's a video you won't be seeing this week on "Headbangers Ball," or any other week for that matter. The band is Wretched and their label, Victory, calls their video for "A Preservation of Immortality," "The Bloodiest Music Video Ever." Clearly, they're biased, but we have to admit Wretched's clip is pretty horrifying, and not in that it's-so-wretched-it-makes-me-shiver kind of way. The video is about a dude who runs over a little girl, and instead of being irresponsible and reporting his crime, he does the sensible thing. He cleans off his car and buries her body. Of corpse (typo intended), no good deed goes unpunished and the poor dude gets attacked by vines in a bloodbath of a scene that "Evil Dead" director Sam Raimi should probably contact his lawyers about. Peter Tägtgren is best known as the frontman for pioneering Swedish death metal band Hypocrisy, but he has also recorded some pretty cool electronic metal stuff with his other outfit Pain. The band has recently posted a video for "Monkey Business," a track from their latest album Cynic Paradise. The video was shot on March 23 and 24 at the Zenith in Paris.
