"We've got to change our wasteful ways or there won't be any more holidays," sing Enviro Vixens members Jen and Heather in a, perhaps, unintentionally hysterical Idealbite.com advertisement for environmental awareness. In a mock music video for a song that seems to be called "Turn out the Lights," the gals and a robot who looks like he was timewarped from the 1970s, encourage viewers to, well, turn off the lights.

The video's especially funny if you look at Jen and Heather as they attempt to imitate people who actually know how to play. Jen's hardly moves her frethand on the guitar and strums the same pattern regardless of what the rhythm of the song is actually doing and Heather strikes the cymbal on the wrong beat and often hits a tom when she should be bashing the snare.

But, as the Enviro Vixens remind us on their Web site, what's important is the message, not the fact that these gals lip-sync worse than Ashlee Simpson. It seems that's all we've got to do to prevent the polar icecaps from melting, stop global warming, reduce domestic crime, prevent terrorism, curb animal poaching and prevent popcorn from burning in the microwave is turn out the lights. Remember, it's up to you. Click "more" to watch and laugh. Read more...

This one's a couple years old, but it's so damn funny we just had to dig it up again. The band is Sin Destroyers, a mock Christian metal outfit that created "Gifts to the World," a part-cartoon, part performance video which features "South Park"-style animation and lines like "He is Christ, the Lord/ and he brings gifts to the world/...He died for your sins so you can get presents/ He is Jesus Christ/ He's got a list and he's checking it twice."

Now, we're not experts or anything, but we think there's kind of a major flaw with the logic of the song. The Sin Destroyers seem to confuse Santa Claus with Jesus Christ -- which is pretty hard to do since Santa's all obese and jolly and s--t, and Christ -- judging by all those old Dutch paintings -- looks kinda like an emaciated street corner junkie.

Then again, who ever said humor has to be based in fact. And for that matter, who ever said religion has to be based in fact. Kiss your crucifix -- whichever direction it may point -- and click "more" to watch Sin Destroyers deliver "Gifts to the World." Read more...

We generally take news from the British press with a grain -- if not a full container -- of salt. But here's a harmless nugget that's not gonna get anyone in trouble, even if it was completely fabricated. According to www.Metro.co.uk, rambunctious teenage African elephants at West Midlands Safari Park in Bewdley, Worcestshire, England are being soothed by the sounds of hard rock and heavy metal. getting some shopping in before heading over to KFC for black metal lunch special

Don't get us wrong. We're fans of good black metal, and there's some great stuff out there, but there's also tons of crap and nothing's above a little bit of mockery. So, with forked tongue firmly planted in cheek we present this recent and bizarre Canadian KFC TV commercial that uses a fake black metal band named Hellvetica to promote a "Wicked Crunch" box meal containing a hot chicken sandwich, hot wings, fries, salad, a drink and a key to open one of the seven gates of Hell. Collect all seven. Thanks to Metal Injection, who introduced this to us. Click "more" to watch. Read more...

If there was a band called Turkey Decapitation, we're sure they would have art work like this sweet illustration we found via a Google Image search that took us to the MySpace page for Street King Record.

Having ascertained an appropriate image for the holiday, we wanted to round things off with a video of a turkey strutting around decked out in heavy metal garb. Instead, we had to settle for a Turkish band strutting around in heavy metal garb.

Mezarkabul ("Pentagram" in Turkish) are a power metal outfit from Istanbul that formed in 1987 and have released five studio albums and two live records, including 1987, which came out in April 2008. In addition to writing songs that feature multiple rhythm and tempo shifts, Mezarkabul incorporate elements of Turkish Anatolian folk music within their virtually unknown songs.

This stuff isn't quite as hysterical as that scene in "Halloween 3" with the TV jingle that causes children's heads to rot and cockroaches to crawl out of their masks, but there's something truly entertaining about watching animated rodents acting out grisly and terrifying scenes from our favorite movies.

The 30 second horror/humor vids come from The Minisode Network, which has injected love, irreverence and aresenic into these cartoons. Click "more" to watch spoofs of "Saw," "The Exorcist" and "The Shining." Read more...

Testament singer Chuck Billy ponders how King of Metal got his name, photo by Jon Wiederhorn

You know how David Letterman, Jay Leno, Jon Stewart and other talk show personalities sometimes go out and find some really odd or dumb people in the street to make fun of? Well, that's pretty much what Metal Injection.net correspondent Dave Hill (a.k.a. King of Metal) did last week with a batch of Testament fans outside B.B. Kings in New York City, and some of the shtick is hysterical.

To wit, the following response to a non-metal guy who doesn't know who Testament are: "Who's Testament?," snorts The King. "Only one of the top, like, 40 thrash metal bands of all time." Click more to enjoy the hilarity. Read more...

Cartoon image by Balázs Gróf

The esteemed leader of a popular metal band sent us this amazing animated music video that pays homage to the 1985 Tobe Hooper sci-fi/horror movie "Lifeforce" and features cartoon depictions of Slipknot, Metallica, Ozzy and Michael Jackson. The video is for the Budapest, Hungary metalcore band Blind Myself and was created by 32-year-old Hungarian cartoonist Balázs Gróf. Click more to watch the awesome clip, which took Gróf over a year to complete. Read more...

It would pretty ridiculous for a band to release two DVDs in just two years. Then again, Dethklok are a pretty ridiculous band.

That's right, "Metalocalypse Season II: Black Fire Upon Us" is headed our way as a double-DVD set (providing it's not banned first for inciting fans to commit suicide), and will drop like a severed head on December 2 -- just in time for the holidays.

In the episodes, the brootal cartoon metal band gets caught up in the disparate but ultimately similar worlds of electrocutions, weddings, publicity stunts and fashion lines (take that, Shagrath). The DVDs feature all 18 season two stories and a slew of hidden special features that fans will have to find on their own.

The scathing jokesters at Metalinquisition.com dug up this absurd photo of a black metal warrior wearing a metal Pope hat, a guitar that doubles as a pitchfork, enough bullets to take out 50 Cent and some magic bulletproof wristbands to deflect any return fire that comes his way. Click "more" to read an even more vicious description of the poor dude and check out some more equally hysterical shots and write-ups. Read more...
