KISS is celebrating 35 years of rockin' the world like no other band has ever done before. The legendary band, currently touring soccer stadiums of South America, announced from Brazil today that their upcoming U.S. and Canadian tour will be the world's first to put fans in charge of where their favorite artist plays. By partnering with Eventful, the leading social media company for events, fans will "Demand" where KISS will perform on their latest trek across the top-voted North American markets beginning this September. Alexi Laiho, guitarist and front man for the award-winning Finnish metal band Children of Bodom has sustained a serious injury while on the road as part of the “No Fear Energy Tour” alongside Lamb of God. Laiho, who was recently named as the world’s "Best Metal Guitarist" in the 15th annual Guitar World reader's poll, broke his shoulder when he was ejected from his bunk as a result of the band’s tour bus taking an irregularly harsh sharp turn. Laiho and Children of Bodom are touring North America in support of the band’s critically acclaimed album Blooddrunk.
Against recommendation, Laiho has decided to remain on tour and will “bite the bullet” to give metal fans the electric live performances they have come to love from the Finnish act. For the duration of the tour – set to run through May 15 -- Alexi will be resigned to wearing the arm in a sling, restricting movement at all times when he is not on stage. Read more...

Last night, we dreamed that Hellyeah drummer Vinnie Paul was a guest on a TV talk show, and was showing the audience how to projectile vomit at will. He'd kind of cough and spit, and a fountain of puke would spew onto the floor. Then everyone would cheer and a group of scantily dressed women who looked like cheerleaders would clean up the vomit with bar towels.
We're not sure if the dream was inspired by the prescription Tylenol with codeine we took or if it had more to do with Paul's comment to DallasObserver.com that Hellyeah will return to the studio on May 15 to record their second album. Read more...

In a rare and revealing interview with Gorgoroth guitarist Roger Tiegs (a.k.a. "Holy f-ck, I've never seen a circle pit at an awards ceremony before" joked metal-bred comic Brian Posehn ("The Sarah Silverman Show"), who hosted the First Annual Epiphone Revolver Golden Gods Awards, which was held Tuesday night at Club Nokia in Los Angeles.
The reason Posehn has never seen it is because it hasn't happened -- at least not in the U.S. The Epiphone Revolver Golden Gods marked the first large scale metal awards show ever in the States, and all corners of the metal community united to pay tribute to the music that has fired up hearts, stirred souls and changed lives. The highlight of the night was headliner Megadeth, whose crushing, polished three-song set of "Peace Sells," "Sweating Bullets" and "Holy Wars" was virtuosic, kinetic and undeniably sincere -- the perfect cap to an evening of heavy metal celebration. We're here in Los Angeles at Club Nokia getting ready for the start of the Revolver Golden Gods Awards. Right now, Megadeth are in a closed soundcheck getting a little rehearsal time and setting the board levels for their headline performance tonight. Coming up later today, most of the other bands playing the Awards will soundcheck -- All That Remains, Hatebreed and Suicide Silence. Last night, Killswitch Engage did their soundcheck and they sounded tight, wired and explosive even without vocalist Howard Jones, who sat out the rehearsal to rest his voice for the big show.
