In anticipation of the new album by Napalm Death, Time Waits For No Slave -- which comes out in the U.S. February 10 and rips like a hungry zombie -- we're thrilled to present a bunch of footage of the band's January 12 show in Bucharest, Romania. Read more...

We love it when underground metal bands get mainstream play in Hollywood. We were stoked when thrash band Powermad appeared in "Wild at Heart" in 1990 and when Cannibal Corpse had a cameo in "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective" in 1994. And it's always cool to see Lemmy from Motorhead pop up in a movie like 2000's "Citizen Toxie: The Toxic Avenger IV" or 2005's "The Curse of El Charro."

The most recent accomplishment by Relapse Records' crazed electro-metal band Genghis Tron especially warmed our blackened hearts. A Renholder remix of the band's ominous clutterfest "Board Up the House" will appear in the end credits of "Underworld: Rise of the Lycans," which opens January 23. The song is also featured on the movie soundtrack with came out today. Click "more" to listen to the cut and watch the band's video for "Things Don't Look Good." Read more...

We found an online interview with Bring Me the Horizon which says the band members are all between 21 and 23 years old, but from the pictures on their MySpace we find that hard to believe. Seriously, that smiley dude on the left of the aobve photo has gotta be 12 and the guy next to him can't even be old enough for acne. The other three dudes could maybe pass for 15, but if they weren't carrying instruments and laminates into a reputable club, there's no way they should be able to get in without the doorman laughing his ass off and sending them back to their hotels with a six-pack of Capri Suns.

And yet this metalcore band from Sheffield, England has been around since 2004 and already have released three albums, including their 2008 offering Suicide Season. And, apparently, they've made quite a name for themselves touring with Killswitch Engage, The Haunted, Lostprophets and loads of others. If you're still not convinced, these UK superstars will be back on this year's Taste of Chaos tour playing with Thursday, Cancer Bats, Four Year Strong and Pierce the Veil.

One reason Bring Me the Horizon have created such a buzz is because, onstage, they have the energy 11 year olds with sugar highs and incredibly loud instruments in their hands. We also kinda like 'em because their last album cover of a blood-spattered girl-next-door holding a handful of bright red intestines is one of the coolest pieces of metal art work we saw in 2008. Give 'em five years and they'll be: a) old enough to drink, b) the next Avenged Sevenfold or c) working at Sainsburys cutting deli meat. Chime in with your thoughts and click "more" to watch the band's video for "Chelsea Smile." Read more...

Recently, a growing number of metal bands are choosing to release animated videos instead of the normal performance or vaguely concept-oriented clips. The latest to cross over to the art side is Gojira, who hired Spanish artist Jossie Malis to render abstract and psychedelic images for their "All the Tears" video.

Late last year, Metallica released the animated "All Nightmare Long," which was created by Roboshobo (a.k.a. Robert Schober), who also directed Mastodon's excellent "Sleeping Giant." And Japanese eccentrics Dir En Grey have become well known for combining weird animation, surreal, unsettling live footage and performance shots, as they did on the new, trippy "Dozing Green," which was created with their longtime director Hiroyuki Kondo. Soulfly will release a digital EP on February 9. The six-track Blood Fire War Hate Tour EP will feature the Conquer album version of "Blood Fire War Hate" and the following songs recorded live in Poland in 2005: "Prophecy, "Downstroy," the Frontlines," "Living Sacrifice" and "Mars." Read more...

The new video by German thrash legends Kreator for the track "Hordes of Chaos (A Necrologue For the Elite)" will premiere here on HeadbangersBlog.com in the days ahead. But for now, we've got a bunch of exclusive stills from the video not available on the band's MySpace.

The video was shot November 2 in Berlin, Germany with director Jörn Heitmann, who filmed Kreator's "Enemy of God" and who has also worked with Rammstein. The clip depicts the band performing on a hill of bodies while "Gladiator"-style battles rage around them. Click more to see shots from the video and read commentary by frontman Mille Petrozza. Let's raise a glass to Swedish metal veterans In Flames, who won the Swedish "Grammi" award today in the "Best Hard Rock" category for their album A Sense of Purpose. The other bands that were up for the award were Meshuggah for obZen, Millencolin for Machine 15, Opeth for Watershed and Sabaton for The Art of War. Read more...

Christian metalcore band, Gwen Stacy, will be digitally re-releasing its full-length 2008 debut, The Life I Know, on January 13. The album will feature six bonus tracks from the band’s debut EP, …I Believe In Humility, which was self-released in 2005. Read more...

We're not sure whether Motorhead frontman Lemmy would be happier about getting the band's current single "Rock Out" in a national TV show or being touched (up) by tattoo vixen Kat Von D. Fortunately, Lem didn't have to choose between the two.

On Thursday at 10 p.m. EST, Von D.'s TLC network program "LA Ink" features the lovely lass working on three of the Motorhead frontman's old, faded tattoos while "Rock Out" blares in the background. How much do you wanna bet that at some point the rocker asked her, "Kat, can I feel your tats?" Read more...

A couple of talented extreme metal musicians will be making a fresh start in 2009. Luciano Lorusso George, who was the vocalast for Italy's experimental, progressive metal band Ephel Duath from 2003 to 2003 has left because of financial reasons.

"The news about his departure has been shocking, especially for him as he had no choice -- and he never thought about his life without the band," said guitarist Davide Tiso in a statement. "I'm so sad he's no longer part of this project, especially after all the work he's put into [our upcoming album] Through My Dog's Eyes."

Ex-Mothercare singer Guillermo Gonzales will replace George. "Ephel Duath has always tried to surmount any obstacles put in its path and this is probably one of the most difficult we've ever faced," said Tiso. "But we will continue because challenges are the roots of this band and it's what makes us stronger."

Another experimental band starting the new year with a challenge is Brooklyn, New York's Behond... The Arctopus, whose drummer Charlie Zeleny has quit to focus on other projects.

"It's been five-plus years of crazy music, amazing fans and good times, but it's definitely time for us to part ways," Zeleny said in a statement. "These days I've been really into developing my career as a session drummer live and in the studio and as a drum solo artist. I'm also very excited to be working on some new projects with Jordan Rudess from Dream Theater and Terry Bozzio for the Drum Channel. I am really excited to focus more on my own online drum tracking business for artists all around the world which has already included Rudess, Blotted Science and Suspyre too. I wish the band the best of luck continuing on in the future without me and look forward to reconnecting with Arctopus fans on tour with other artists and bands soon."

The band has not yet announced a replacement for Zeleny.
