We've kinda been waiting for this and at last the time is come. We've got three of last week's video premieres to throw your way for the next installment of "Your Vote Counts." And while we're pretty sure there are enough maggots out there to dust the floor with the competition, we've got a couple of worthy competitors to Slipknot's new video "Sulfur." First, there's Lazarus A.D.'s worthy thrash-fest "Thou Shall Not Fear." Then, we've got the Brit metalcore darling band Bring Me the Horizon and their latest vid "Diamonds Aren't Forever." And finally, there's all the stuff that premiered in prior weeks, like Oceano's "District of Misery." Click "more" to see all your choices for this week. Remember, recent winners are ineligible, so only select from out list. Also, one vote per IP address. Voting runs through Wednesday at 3 p.m. Here are your choices. Read more...

Sweeping this week's "Your Vote Counts" is Hatebreed's tremendous cover of Slayer's "Ghosts of War." The video will return to the next episode of "Headbangers Ball," which airs Saturday from 2 to 3 a.m. on MTV2.

"I have to admit, the Hatebreed video really surprised me, So I'm going with them," wrote GVOLTT, echoing the sentiments of other readers impressed by the band's ability to pay homage to Slayer and still express their own artistic vision.

Chicago's self-proclaimed "angriest band in the world," Oceano, has even more reason to be pissed now that Mastodon has taken top honors in this week's Your Vote Counts and earned the right to return to the next edition of "Headbangers Ball," which airs Saturday at 2 a.m.

See, Mastodon shouldn't have really been eligible for the title. They won the return slot the first week we played "Divinations," and once an artist wins Your Vote Counts, the rule has always been they can't win again for another couple months. This week, however, we let readers vote for any of the new videos from the last show just for the hell of it. Metal's supposed to be nothing if not rebellious, right?

But rage not, Oceano. Even though your video "District of Misery" didn't technically win, we're re-airing it anyway on the next "Ball" out of a combination of respect and, well, fear. Click "more" to watch both videos, and catch them again Saturday on MTV2. Read more...

Since we only premiered one new video on this week's "Headbangers Ball," Oceano's "District of Misery," we decided to flip the script a little for this week's "Your Vote Counts." In the past, recent winners and classic videos have been ineligible, but to keep things fresh we're opening up the field to anything from Saturday's show. We still think Chicago's Oceano, the self-professed "angriest band in the world" (probably because everyone keeps calling them deathcore) are pretty sweet, but we're gonna make 'em prove their mettle by throwing them up against heavy hitters like Lamb of God, Mastodon and Children of Bodom. Apparently, lots of you sickos out there like your videos graphic and gory, which explains why Cannibal Corpse's "Evisceration Plague" is the winner of this week's "Your Vote Counts" and will return for the next edition of "Headbangers Ball," which airs Saturday night from 2 to 3 a.m.

Death metal fans will also appreciate the premiere of the new Oceano video "District of Misery," which will premiere on the HeadbangersBlog.com tomorrow. In a unanimous decision, death grinders Cattle Decapitation mopped the crimson floor with both Static-X and Within the Ruins in this week's "Your Vote Counts." And so, the victors' new video "Regret and the Grave" will air on the next "Headbangers Ball," a special two-hour episode that airs from 2 a.m. to 4 a.m. on MTV2. Click "more" to read viewer comments and watch a professionally shot 32-minute-long Cattle Decapitation concert. Read more...

Strangely, much of the praise we received from viewers for this week's "Your Vote Counts" winner Dope credited their new single "6-6 Sick" for being uncharacteristic of their earlier output. The song is rhythmic and propulsive and the video is like something from a White Zombie flashback -- pretty cool stuff. Catch it on Saturday's "Headbangers Ball," which airs from 2 to 3 a.m. on MTV2. Click "more" to watch a dirtier, uncensored Dope video (viewer's discretion is advised!). Read more...
