In a surprise upset, Kenosha, Wisconsin quartet Lazarus A.D. have topped Bring me the Horizon and Slipknot to win this week's "Your Vote Counts" and return to the next episode of "Headbangers Ball," which airs Saturday at 2 a.m. on MTV2. The band's video "Thou Shall Not Fear" was shot in Milwaukee at the haunted venue Eagle’s Ballroom and was directed by Jason Meudt and Emmet Austin.

"Slipknot has a super-sweet-ass video, but everybody and their mother knows that name so they don't need more air time," wrote Mrsaucytrousers. "My vote is for Lazarus A.D. The people need thrash and they can give it to them."

"That off-beat cymbal in the begining? Chillingly beautiful. Not to mention the solo," added Engage What Remains.

Sweeping this week's "Your Vote Counts" is Hatebreed's tremendous cover of Slayer's "Ghosts of War." The video will return to the next episode of "Headbangers Ball," which airs Saturday from 2 to 3 a.m. on MTV2.

"I have to admit, the Hatebreed video really surprised me, So I'm going with them," wrote GVOLTT, echoing the sentiments of other readers impressed by the band's ability to pay homage to Slayer and still express their own artistic vision.

Chicago's self-proclaimed "angriest band in the world," Oceano, has even more reason to be pissed now that Mastodon has taken top honors in this week's Your Vote Counts and earned the right to return to the next edition of "Headbangers Ball," which airs Saturday at 2 a.m.

See, Mastodon shouldn't have really been eligible for the title. They won the return slot the first week we played "Divinations," and once an artist wins Your Vote Counts, the rule has always been they can't win again for another couple months. This week, however, we let readers vote for any of the new videos from the last show just for the hell of it. Metal's supposed to be nothing if not rebellious, right?

Since we only premiered one new video on this week's "Headbangers Ball," Oceano's "District of Misery," we decided to flip the script a little for this week's "Your Vote Counts." In the past, recent winners and classic videos have been ineligible, but to keep things fresh we're opening up the field to anything from Saturday's show. We still think Chicago's Oceano, the self-professed "angriest band in the world" (probably because everyone keeps calling them deathcore) are pretty sweet, but we're gonna make 'em prove their mettle by throwing them up against heavy hitters like Lamb of God, Mastodon and Children of Bodom. We're real fond of the new Cattle Decapitation video for "Regret and the Grave," so we're kinda banking on you guys showing it your support and voting it back for next week's episode of "Headbangers Ball." Now, we're not trying to sway your vote or nothin,' but for some reason we just love the idea of a slaughterhouses being built for humans, and the image of cows forcing people through herding mazes and into tiny little cages -- and we're full-fledged carnivores, though, for health reasons, we're partial to the mistreatment of chickens than cows.
