Remember Russian pop stars, T.A.T.U., the supposed lesbian pop duo who rocketed to number one in 2002 with the infectious "All The Things She Said," which was accompanied by a video of the girls dressed in uniforms kissing in the rain. Veteran noise-metal band Burnt By the Sun have posted the demo for the new song "F-Unit" on their MySpace and created a promo video that features the tune as the soundtrack of a runaway train plowing through the walls of a station. Veteran Maryland rock quartet Clutch are putting the finishing touches on their ninth studio album, titled Strange Cousins From the West. Produced by Clutch and J. Robbins at Magpie Cage Studios in Baltimore, the effort is the first Clutch original to be released on the band's own Weathermaker Music, through RED Distribution. Label manager Jon Nardachone says that Strange Cousins will be available both digitally and through retail on July 7. The first single and video, "50,000 Unstoppable Watts" will be released before Memorial Day weekend. Read more...

While we were out in Los Angeles for the Epiphone Revolver Golden Gods Awards, CM Radio DJ Jose Mangin got up close and personal with Steel Panther, the best parody metal band since Spinal Tap -- not including Dethklok, who are only a cartoon. Steel Panther are obviously cartoonish, but they're definitely for real, performing weekly gigs of mostly covers at their celebrity-packed residencies in Las Vegas and Los Angeles.
