Even though there's a dude in the band who wears a purple shirt to a publicity shoot, that didn't stop you guys from overwhelmingly voting for A Hero a Fake over Machine Head, Arise and Ruin, All That Remains and Today is the Day to win the encore slot on the next "Headbangers Ball." Read more...

On the last "Headbangers Ball" we premiered videos by A Hero a Fake and Today is the Day. We also played new clips by Machine Head, Arise and Ruin and others. Now it's your turn to bring one of them back for the next show.

Pick from the list below, and feel free to include a comment, the best of which will be published when we announce the winner. Remember, only one vote per IP address and this year's prior winners are ineligible, so you must pick from our list. Voting runs through Wednesday at 3 p.m. Click "more" to see this week's choices and watch the vids. Read more...

We coulda seen this one coming from the other side of the Berlin Wall -- if it was still standing, that is. Kreator's new video "Hordes of Chaos" has swept past clips by Arise and Ruin, Abigail Williams, Five Finger Death Punch and Warbringer to earn a slot on the next episode of "Headbangers Ball," which airs Saturday night from 2 to 3 a.m. on MTV2. If you were out of town last week, or your computer was in the shop because you had to have all the viruses removed that you acquired surfing for porn, don't worry, we've got your back. Here's a recap of some of the coolest stuff we posted:

We were there when Slipknot, Coheed and Cambria and Trivium blew the roof off Madison Square Garden and checked back with a full review of the show.

On the last "Headbangers Ball," we premiered the new Kreator video "Hordes of Chaos" and Arise and Ruin's "Forever Damned." We also programmed new clips by Warbringer and Abigail Williams.

Now it's your turn to pick one of these or another clip from the list below to return for next week's program. Remember, past winners are ineligible and only one vote is allowed per IP address. Voting runs through Wednesday at 3 p.m. Click more to watch last week's winner again and see this week's choices. Read more...

In a mere four days, Canadian metalcore band Arise and Ruin will release their second album, Night Storms Hailfire, a pulverizing slab of volume and aggression that the group describe thusly: "Imagine if Hatebreed and Integrity got into a brawl with Slayer and Entombed in the middle of a show that Motorhead and Venom were playing." We couldn't have said it better ourselves... Well, maybe we could, but it's late and we're tired. Click "more" to watch the video of "Forever Damned" and catch it again on Saturday night's "Headbangers Ball," which runs from 2 to 3 a.m. on MTV2. Read more...

The headline for this post is not entirely false. If you vote for one of the band's that was played on last Saturday's show they might win enough votes to return for next Saturday's show. And if you're name is Nikki Sixx and you're the bassist for Motley Crue and you cast a vote for next week's show, you very well might receive an erotic massage from hot babe tattoo chick Kat Von D. Of course, you probably don't have to vote for anything to receive such honors, but Nikki, if you decide to vote we'll surely count it.

And now, onto this week's contest. Choose one artist from the list below. The act with the most votes will win an encore appearance on Saturday’s show. As always, past winners are not eligible for your vote; that means last week’s winner Meshuggah can’t win and neither can The Gates of Slumber.

Also, only ONE vote is allowed per IP address. It doesn’t matter if you use a different screen name. If you vote twice from the same computer, you will be disqualified. Voting runs between now and 2 p.m. on Wednesday. Click "more" to see the complete list. Read more...

Those of you who are old enough to remember National Lampoon's "...or we'll shoot this dog" advertising campaign might appreciate the promotional pitch for this week's "Your Vote Counts." And maybe some of the rest of you twisted f--kers will still think it's funny (if not, we welcome the hate mail).

When you get over your disgust or stop laughing your asses off, it'll be time to cast your ballot for this week's contestants. Choose one artist from the list below. The act with the most votes will win an encore appearance on Saturday's show. As always, past winners are not eligible for your vote; that means last week’s winner The Gates of Slumber can't win and neither can Lair of the Minotaur or Terror.

Also, only ONE vote is allowed per IP address. It doesn't matter if you use a different screen name. If you vote twice from the same computer, you will be disqualified. Voting runs between now and 2 p.m. on Wednesday. Click "more" to see the complete list and let's get rockin'. Read more...

A short message before we get into this week's competition: Last week the astute judges of "Your Vote Counts" noticed that many of the votes being cast were coming from the same IP addresses. These voters were disqualified. Only one vote can come from a single IP address. If your roommate already cast his ballot, go find another computer.

Now on to this this week's challenge. Last week, Whitechapel won our contest, so you can't vote for them again. Other than that, submissions from the list below must be received by 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 23. Feel free to include a comment, which may be published when we announce the winner. Oh, and you may not be listening to hair metal when you vote. Click "more" to see this week’s choices: Read more...

Here's a band who have listened a little too much Hatebreed and watched one too many splatter movies. Arise and Ruin, a quintet from Guelph, Ontario (that's Canada, to you xenophobes), have toured with The Black Dahlia Murder, Cephalic Carnage and others and describe their music as "the Soundtrack to 'Rambo 4.'" Arise in Ruin's debut album, The Final Dawn, came out last October. On Saturday night MTV2's Headbangers Ball will present the on-air premiere of their new video for "Bound by Blood." But you can watch it first right here by clicking "more." Read more...
