You should know by know that if you want to vote for "Your Vote Counts," you have to register to be a part of the MTV Community. Here's how:
Sign up at the bottom of the screen and under "Profile URL" type something to identify you — preferably some word that includes a couple numbers. This will be attached to a long URL address that will be your private address for the site. So, go do it now or suffer the fate of your peers, whose idea of "ass-kicking" might not be quite as astute as yours.
This week's "Headbangers Ball" aired the premiere of the new In Flames video "Alias," which, we're guessing, will be a shoe-in for this week's contest. But a democracy's a democracy, so there are also other new videos for viewers to chose from. Click "more" to see the complete list: Read more...

Hopefully, by now most of you have signed up to be part of the MTV Community. If you haven't, you might wanna get your ass in gear -- especially if you want to submit comments to HeadbangersBlog.com or take part in this week's "You Vote Counts" and help determine what video from the last "Headbangers Ball" returns for Saturday's show.
Just scroll to the bottom of the screen and sign up. It’s easy, and all submitted information is confidential. In addition to being able to post comments, MTV Community members will receive access to music and video premieres we can’t offer on the Blog. One thing about the sign-up sheet, though. People are getting a little tripped up by the box asking for the users “Profile URL.” So, here’s what to do.
Under "Profile URL" just type something to identify you — preferably some word that includes a couple numbers. That will then be attached to a long URL address that will be your private address for the site.
We now return to our regularly scheduled post -- "Your Vote Counts." On Saturday, we aired some pretty big premieres by Hatebreed, Underoath, The Sword and Carnifex. Choose one of them or someone else from the list below. The act with the most votes will win a return slot to Saturday's episode. As always, past winners are not eligible and neither are videos from old albums. In other words, only pick from our list. Voting runs between now and 2 p.m. on Wednesday. Click “more” to see the complete list.

Call them deathcore and you might just get a guitar headstock to the jaw. But even if you were to call them something ridiculous like emo or hair metal (neither of which remotely apply), Carnifex would still rip just as hard. The music on their second album, The Diseased and the Poisoned, is like a revving chainsaw to the sternum -- a messy, blast of pain that triggers a blinding explosion in the brain. And their video for "Answers is Mourning" just might give you an aneurysm (MTV, nor the band are accountable for any injury sustained during listening to the song or viewing the video). So, if you're up for the challenge, click "more" to listen to what Scott Lewis has to say about the clip, then check out the video. Read more...
