It took almost three years, but the new Mushroomhead DVD is almost here. The band will release "Volume 2," the follow-up to 2005's "Volume 1," on October 28 on Filthy hands/Megaforce Records.
The disc features two and a half hours of material, including live footage from the three-year "Savior Sorrow" tour; music videos such as "1200," "Simple Survival" and the brand new "Save Us"; video commentary and behind the scenes footage.
"Most bands release DVDs that don't have anything but live or backstage footage," says sampler Stitch. "Keeping the spirit of the old Pantera home videos, we always try to have more of the behind the scenes antics and drama that shows the human side of Mushroomhead and what goes on when we are not onstage. Everything about this home video is personal and we filmed and edited all of the content. If you own 'Volume 1' then 'Volume 2' will blow your f---ing mind."

In part two of our exclusive new interview with Avenged Sevenfold about their new DVD and CD set, "Live in the LBC & Diamonds in the Rough" (out today!), we talk to the boys about touring with Iron Maiden, their cover of Pantera's "Walk," the b-side "Tension" and the tours they'll embark upon when singer M. Shadows' voice is fully healed. As widely reported, Avenged Sevenfold were recently forced to cancel a co-headlining tour with Buckcherry because Shadows was suffering vocal fatigue. Before the new Lamb of God DVD "Walk With Me In Hell" was released, the band premiered the thing at Clearview Cinemas in New York City, and our pals at MetalIlnjection.net were there to document the celebration. Our favorite part is when singer Randy Blythe says, "See how many people are here? -- No one! That's how well this DVD's gonna do."
Of course, Blythe was just being self-deprecating. In addition to talking to the band, MI interviewed director Doug Spanenberg and fans who came from as far away as Connecticut to catch the screening. Click "more" to watch the footage and find out why Spanenberg included the fight between Blythe and guitarist Mark Morton on the band's last DVD "Killadelphia."

There aren't too many bands as engagingly uncategorizable as North Carolina's Between the Buried and Me. One minute, they're writing dizzying prog rock songs full of unconventional rhythm and tempo changes, and the next they're unleashing a series of dissonant, chugging chords and crashing beats as jarring as a wrecking ball through your living room window. The band's eclecticism appeals equally to fans of death metal, prog-rock, metalcore, hardcore and even deathcore.
Because of this, Between the Buried and Me have played some wildly divergent bills since releasing their fifth album, Colors, last September. This spring they were on Dream Theater's Progressive Nation tour package along with Opeth and 3, and they're currently wrapping up a European tour with Meshuggah and Dillinger Escape Plan. Once they get back from Europe at the end of the month they'll be done touring for a while, but in September they'll head out again for a U.S. tour with Children of Bodom.
While they're off the road, Between the Buried and Me will begin working on the follow-up to Colors, which they hope to release in early 2009. For fans who can't wait that long, the band will release a live DVD in October featuring two sets -- one of Colors material and one of older songs.
While Between the Buried and Me were in Europe, we talked to guitarist Paul Waggoner about the band's efforts to remain original, the difference between experimentation and self-indulgence, the upcoming DVD and the next studio record, which just might be the group's first full-fledged concept album. Waggoner also filled us in on the final show shenanigans on the Progressive Nation tour and his favorite prog and metal bands.

Today's preview from Lamb of God's upcoming DVD set "Walk With Me in Hell" (out July 1) documents the band's first ever sold out hometown show, which took place during the Sacrament tour -- more than 10 years after the group's formation. The gig was scheduled right before the band headed to Europe, and during the show singer Randy Blythe announced that guitarists Mark Morton and Will Adler would crowd surf from the front of the venue to the back while playing their instruments. At that point, it was too late for the guys to back out. Click "more" to see it all: Read more...

Canada's lauded death metal veterans, Kataklysm, will debut their new video, "To Reign Again," on this week's Headbangers Ball. The track comes from the band's 2006 album In The Arms of Devastation, which was re-released on February 6 as a deluxe edition. The new package includes a DVD containing The End of Serenity: Live in Strassbourg, a concert shot in Strassbourg, France during the 2004 Serenity in Fire tour, and all of the band's videos.
The "To Reign Again" video was shot by Maurice Swinkel of Lowlife Media in April 2006 during the No Mercy tour. For now, here's the video for "The Awakener" from the 1996 album Temple of Knowledge.

Speedmetal would most likely be thismuch slower if the great Dave Mustaine never picked up a guitar.
On March 6, you'll have more visual proof of Mustaine's magic fingers as Megadeth releases a new live DVD called That One Night: Live in Buenos Aires. The show was filmed in October 2005 in front of 25,000 screaming Argentine metalheads as seen in this promo video.
Mustaine says in a press release that we may (or may not) have spilled some energy drink on, "This was one of the greatest nights of my life. "I am glad I was able to document it and share it with you. ‘That One Night' is a lesson in metal fanaticism by some of the best participating, most frenzied, and intense concert-goers in the world! I have waited ten years to show the rest of the world how much Megadeth and Argentina love each other. If seeing this doesn't convince you how lethal a Megadeth concert in Argentina with some very close personal friends can be, don't worry…you're already dead."
Now would be a good time to tuck into some classic Megadeth. We know that the thought of Dave Mustaine being as great a political economist as the legendary Adam Smith has probably crossed your mind a few times, and the lyric "peace sells, but who's buying" pretty much proves it, eh?
