Normally, we write something a little snarky when musicians appeal to their MySpace readers to choose their video for "Your Vote Counts," but since the new Black Dahlia Murder clip for "Everything Went Black" is so rippin', we'll spare them the public humiliation and consider it a public service to re-air the new video. Despite its excellence, the victory didn't come without a serious challenge from The Dillinger Escape Plan, who called on their MySpace readers to vote "Black Bubblegum" a return trip to the Ball. But the cry came too late and, as the deadline hour hit, it was Detroit's Black Dahlia that emerged triumphant, much to the relief of their fans.
"If I don’t see Trevor and the boys next week I’m gonna %uck $hit up!!" ranted Kim666. "TBDM. Everything Went Black. There is no other logical choice." Read more...

Drawing influence from Stephen King and George Romero, The Black Dahlia Murder took an EC Comics cartoon horror approach to their seventh music video "Everything Went Black," which was directed by David Brodsky (All That Remains, The Red Chord).
"After the last two videos, which were comprised of live and goofing around footage, we wanted to do something different," singer Trevor Strnad said in an exclusive statement to HeadbangersBlog.com. "'The 'Creepshow' theme was an idea of Brian’s, and I think it was the perfect way to represent what we’re all about -- classic horror elements and ridiculous amounts of fun. We chose Brodsky because of his prior involvement with The Red Chord, and we are very stoked with the outcome. He did a really great job with recreating the campy comic book vibe of the old 'Creepshow' movies. For any of you new jacks that aren’t familiar with 'Creepshow,' you better get your asses in gear and check it out! I must commend Dave for tolerating my most horrible acting skills ('Dude, you smiled in EVERY part!') and John K for being the best actor this horror business has ever seen. Stay morbid and we’ll see you soon."
