Now that we've given you a healthy dose of Soulfly interview footage, it's time to check out the band's first video from their upcoming album Conquer, which comes out July 29. The track is called "Unleash" and the vid was directed by Robert Sexton. Here's frontman Max Calvera to tell us more:

The Unleash video was based on the idea of capturing the vibes of two worlds colliding -- the old world, kind of like an "Apocalypto" vibe and the new world, with a kind of "Apocalypse Now" war theme.

The video was shot in Los Angeles in the Mayan Theatre with a full set of tribal warriors, a live leopard and the presence of our friend/guest singer Dave Peters from Throwdown.

The new Soulfly album Conquer doesn't come out until July 29, but it's never too early to start plugging something cool. Besides, we're premiering the band's new video for "Unleash" on Thursday so we figured we might as well get the kettle boiling. Not that the Soulfly pot needs any stirring. The band's last album, 2005's Dark Ages, was a beast to behold and Conquer is no less brutal. In our second of three days of interview clips, the band talks about how The Cavalera Conspiracy's debut Inflikted rubbed off on the new Soulfly, and why the disc was created in different countries. Yeah, we know Max Cavalera just released an album with Cavalera Conspiracy in March, but this guy's a machine. While Max is on tour with the Conspiracy (U.S. dates start July 17 in Philadelphia) the new album by his other band, Soulfly, will drop on the unprotected heads of all doubters like an anvil on a cantaloupe. Conquer comes out July 29, and Cavalera describes it as "Soulfly's most battle-ready record by far," adding, "The vibe reminds me of movies like 'Gladiator' and '300.'"

It has been a little while since we pitted Cavalera Conspiracy against Soulfly in our last Who Rocks Harder challenge. We didn't post sooner, in part, because we were in denial of who won. Seriously, that Conspiracy debut, Inflikted, is one of our favorite albums of the year. Sadly, our vote for Cavalery Conspiracy wouldn't have helped since Soulfly won by a good 20 percent.

Interestingly, it seems like most old-school Sepultura fans sided with us. "I gotta lean to Cavalera Conspiracy," wrote Kingsnake. It's about as close to Sepultura as we’re gonna get in this lifetime."

Beneath the Lineup concurred: "I love the old thrash sound so I have to go with Cavalera Conspiracy plus Igor is one of my favorite drummers."

The Soulfly voters didn't have much to say. The typical comment, like the one by 666, read something like "I prefer Soulfly." But the great thing about a democracy is anyone with a voice (or in this case an Internet connection) can vote, and you don't have to be able to defend your choice.

Still, we can understand where the somewhat silent majority are coming from. Soulfly have amassed some cool stuff over their 11 years together, and the band's new album, Conquer, which comes out July 29, is pretty fierce as well.
