We know where she gets the hair, but not the smile
If you figured Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine's daughter Electra would be a hellraising headbanger? Guess again.
First of all, she's only a kid, and secondly she clearly prefers real animals to animal rockers. But she's got some things in common with her old man. At age 10 she's well on her way to becoming a media darling. Electra currently co-hosts the Animal Planet children's program "Faithful Friends" with Wanda Goldberg, who is married to retired professional wrestler Bill Goldberg. Electra is in charge of the "Itty Bitty Buddy" segment program and talks to kids about small pets including fish, cats, chinchillas, hedgehogs and hermit crabs.
Before landing a gig on "Faithful Friends," Electra appeared in a Megadeth video with her brother Justis. "It was funny to watch my dad because he was banging around in his chair and on his knees," she told Catchannel.com. "I thought he was going to fall over, but he didn't! All my friends came over for Bible study, and I was like, 'guys, come check this out!' because I was so excited. They loved it."

With Gigantour 2008, Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine tapped into the independent market a little bit and cobbled together a fierce, bill that featured Megadeth, In Flames, Children of Bodom, Job For a Cowboy and High on Fire. It seemed like a good move -- one that verified Megadeth's importance in the lineage of heavy metal and made Mustaine look pretty savvy. Read more...

Dave Mustaine is coming to prime time TV. No, the Megadeth frontman isn't getting his own reality show (but wouldn't that be great?!), one of the band's recent shows in San Diego, California is going to be broadcast on HDNet TV's "Concert Series" on November 2 at 8 p.m. EST, reports Blabbermouth.net.
The program, "Blood in the Water: Live in San Diego" features a set from the Cox Arena on the 2008 Gigantour tour. Click "more" to watch a preview of "Peace Sells." The concert will will be rebroadcast on Monday, November 3 at 2:30 a.m. EST. Read more...

The band name Hellsongs is more than a bit deceptive. So is the title of their debut album, Hyms in the Key of 666. But don't let that stop you. And don't be put off by the fact that there's not a single distorted guitar, screamed vocal or aggressive drum volley in any of their songs. Actually, these Swedes don't exactly have their own songs. They're a metal cover band, and they contort the music of Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Megadeth, Slayer, Metallica, Twisted Sister and others into melancholy lounge music. It's actually pretty hard to tell what song they're singing until you hear the lyrics. And, amazingly, it works. Click "more" to stream Songs in the Key of 666. Read more...

On July 10, Megadeth Frontman Dave Mustaine was at the Guitar Center in Hollywood to conduct Guitar Center Sessions: An Evening of Dialogue and Insight with Dave Mustaine. The free, informal seminar was designed to provide informative, provocative conversation and hands-on tutorials and during the afternoon Mustaine demonstrated some of his classic riffs, offered guitar techniques, discussed his favorite gear (including his signature guitars and Marshall amps), and offered thoughts on marketing, monetizing and touring in today's music business.
