Later this month, God Forbid will release a video for the song "War of Attrition," from their new album Earthsblood. Click "more" to watch a teaser of the clip: Read more...

Just two days before launching a tour with Lamb of God, As I Lay Dying, Children of Bodom and Municipal Waste, God Forbid have announced that guitarist Dallas Coyle has quit the band. In a statement, his brother, guitarist Doc Coyle, said there was a "mutual disagreement" that "became angry on both sides, and [Dallas] decided to sit out the tour the day we were supposed to leave."

His ex-bandmates assumed the rift would be temporary, then, according to Doc, they "learned later he did not want to tour anymore at all." (Click "more" to read the rest of the story and listen to HeadbangersBlog.com's podcast interview with Doc Coyle, in which he described the musical differences he was having with his brother before the split.) Last week, Doc Coyle, guitarist for God Forbid, told us that his band was lined up for what he called "one of the biggest tours this year," but he wouldn't tell us the other groups involved. And when we asked if the headliner rhymed with Slam of Mod he said, "I have no idea what you're talking about." Liar, liar, pants on fire!

Starting April 2, God Forbid will, indeed, hit the road with Slam of Mod -- err, Lamb of God. God Forbid will actually be in a rotating support slot with Municipal Waste. Direct support on the bill will come from As I Lay Dying and Children of Bodom. Not a bad way to spend a romantic spring evening.

The No Fear Energy Music Tour will launch April 2 in Phoenix, Arizona and will run through May 15 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Click "more" for dates and videos. Read more...

Much of next week's "Headbangers Ball" is already programmed, but there's one slot that's open and it's up to you to decide what video gets played. Yes, it's time for you to take a stand and choose one new video from last weekend's show to return next week. As always, past winners are not eligible for your vote; that means last week's winner Terror can't win and neither can Whitechapel, so don't waste your time voting for either.

Still, we've got some pretty strong candidates remaining, including The Gates of Slumber with "Trapped in the Web," which we premiered last week, Slipknot's "Psychosocial," we received its Headbangers debut last week and the new one by Shadows Fall, "Forevermore."

The rules are simple. Only ONE vote is allowed for each IP address. It doesn't matter if you use a different screen name. If you vote twice from the same computer, you will be disqualified. Voting runs between now and 2 p.m. on Wednesday, so get crackin'. Click "more" to see the complete list, watch last week's winner for inspiration and let the voting begin. Read more...

A short message before we get into this week's competition: Last week the astute judges of "Your Vote Counts" noticed that many of the votes being cast were coming from the same IP addresses. These voters were disqualified. Only one vote can come from a single IP address. If your roommate already cast his ballot, go find another computer.

Now on to this this week's challenge. Last week, Whitechapel won our contest, so you can't vote for them again. Other than that, submissions from the list below must be received by 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 23. Feel free to include a comment, which may be published when we announce the winner. Oh, and you may not be listening to hair metal when you vote. Click "more" to see this week’s choices: Read more...

Whether you're into medieval warfare, cannibalism, blood-spattered chicks or storming metal Lair of the Minotaur is a hard act to follow. Last Wednesday, the barbarian tribe took "Your Vote Counts" hands down and earned a trip back to last weekend's "Headbangers Ball." This week we've got six other videos from the show for you to choose from, including clips by Whitechapel, Soulfly and The Devil Wears Prada.

As always, you can't vote for Lair again or other past winners, Kataklym and The Black Dahlia Murder. Submissions from the list below must be received by 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 16. Feel free to include a comment, which may be published when we announce the winner. Viewers who vote more than once will be disqualified. Click “more” to see this week’s choices: Read more...

The day after those colorful fireworks lit up the sky, we had our own explosions on "Headbangers Ball," with debuts of Lair of the Minotaur's "War Metal Battle Master," Municipal Waste's "Sadistic Magician," and Lamb of God's "Walk with Me in Hell" (from their new DVD of the same name). Now, we're asking you to pick one of 'em -- or some other new video we played -- to return for next week's program.

The rules are simple. Submit your choice from the list below by 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 9. Feel free to include a comment, which may be published when we announce the winner. Past "Your Vote Counts" winners are not eligible, which is why last week's victor, Cryptopsy and Black Dahlia Murder have not been included on the last. Viewers who vote more than once will be disqualified. Click "more" to see this week's choices: Read more...
